VALERIE (DION) WHITE Dec. 7, 1949 - June 16, 2022 Living vivaciously for 72 1/2 years, Valerie White was a wife, mother of three, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of two, educator, and a lifelong learner. Born in San Francisco and raised in Vallejo, Valerie could recite whole bay area like the back of her hand. Knowing every nook and cranny, back road, old and new structures, Valerie placed permanent roots in Solano County. Valerie wore many hats including being a Pacific Bell employee, G.A.T.E. and special education teacher at Tolenas Elementary School and Grange Middle School for decades, band-mom, scout-mom, CCD teacher, devoted friend, proactive neighbor, and profound community member. Every conversation involving her, lesson she taught, act of helping others, was a work of art. The world was her canvas and she chose to paint with her favorite and daring colors of music, kindness, curiosity, education and fearless ambition. Valerie was a lifelong Star Trek enthusiast who could recite any scene from any anthology. She was a impressive lover of the Dr. Who series, Harry Potter, soap operas and Big Bang Theory. Valerie was also a revolutionary and forward-thinking activist. She loudly and proudly supported women's rights, immigrant rights, and LGBT rights. Valerie firmly and warmly believed in equality for all human and thou shall only be judged by their character and integrity. Her love was great. Her love was grand. Her love was unlike anything there will ever be again. It is important to remember when continuing her impactful legacy that what died doesn't stay dead. Continue the good work and carry on. Valerie White was a force to be reckoned with; she was trailblazer in endless ways and the world was better because of her efforts and accomplishments. Now that she is above the trees looking down, may she live long and prosper in peace. Beam her up, Scotty! Valerie's memorial service will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. Immediately following, she will be placed in final resting spot at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield, where she will be blessed and encircled by adoring family and close friends.
