Susan Grotheer Lippstreu December 18, 1930 ---May 15, 2022 Susan Grotheer Lippstreu passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on May 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Susan Lippstreu was the daughter of Lloyd Andrews Grotheer and Dorothy Campbell Grotheer, long time residents of Suisun Valley. Susan’s grandparents, George Campbell and Ella Mae Robinson Campbell, August Grotheer and Jane Andrews Grotheer also lived in Suisun Valley. The Campbells and the Grotheers were all farmers in Suisun Valley starting in the 1880’s. Susan went 1st - 8th grade at Suisun Valley School. She graduated as class valedictorian from Armijo High School in 1948. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and teaching credential from Stanford University in 1952. Susan married Ed Lippstreu in 1954. They had 4 children, Bruce (Jenel) , Lynn, Carol and Jill (Brian). Susan was blessed with three grandchildren Ryan and Logan Wagner and Parker Green. Susan had 4 careers. She taught 4th grade at Fairfield Elementary School. She raised 4 beautiful children. She worked for her own business with her husband Ed at Lippstreu Realty. She was a 4th generation farmer in Suisun Valley where her roots ran deep for the love of farming, so in 1983 when her father passed away, she continued the farming tradition at Grotheer Ranch. Susan loved to play bridge with her friends. She played golf at Green Valley Country Club where she served as the Women’s Golf Captain in 1972. She was a long time member of The Open Book Club and Wednesday Club of Suisun. She was appointed by the Solano County Board of Supervisors as a charter member of the Agricultural Advisory Board where she served 14 years as a Director. She was a proud member of Farm Bureau and served as a Director for over 20 years. Her years as a 4-H leader brought much joy to her as well. Susan was also appointed by the Supervisors to serve as a Commissioner for Suisun Fire Protection District. Susan was so proud of our volunteer fire department and she appreciated all their care in her final years. Susan is survived by her 4 children and 3 grandchildren. Susan is preceded in death by her great grandparents, grand parents, husband Ed and her brother Lloyd Andrews Grotheer, Jr. Susan was an incredible woman. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a friend. Susan was loved by all who knew her and she will never be forgotten. Visitation with family will be June 16, 2022 at 10 am and funeral services at 11 am at the Methodist Church, 1875 Fairfield Avenue, Fairfield. Burial will follow at Rockville Cemetery, 4219 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield. A lunch reception at Green Valley Country Club, 35 Country Club Drive, Fairfield will begin about 1:00 pm.
