January 26, 1940 - December 23, 2021
Nenita Galindez, 81, passed away on December 23, 2021, in Suisun City, California surrounded by love from her children and grandchildren. “Nita” was born in Zambales, Philippines to Guillermo and Rosa. She graduated high school from the Manila Central University where she served on the student council. After marrying Conrado Galindez she arrived in the United States and served over 20 years as a supportive Coast Guard wife. While Conrado was away on duty, Nita learned to drive, became a United States Citizen, became a respiratory therapist, and graduated from nursing school, all while raising her children. For 25 years, Nita spent most of her career caring for patients at Brookside Hospital, now Doctor’s Medical Center in San Pablo, California. With compassion, she held a high standard caring for her patients, all while taking the time to support her fellow colleagues with leadership and grace. Anyone who knew Nita well, was always sweetly welcomed into her home, which was just as clean as the hospital! You would have been offered way too much food with vegetables and fruit fresh from her garden. Nita loved tending and caring to her plants, especially orchids which were always blooming and filled her home. Most of all, Nita was a loving mother and left us beautiful memories and wisdom filled with strength and love. She was also “Lola” and Nita’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. Anyone of them could enter the room and her face would light up with a smile just to see them. Nita will be remembered forever and is survived by her children, Anna, Maria, Conrad, Roseabelle; her grandchildren, Marissa, Rachael, Donovan, Kimberly, Olivia; and her siblings, Arnold, Carmen, Tessie, Fe, Perla and Sid.
