Marion Frances Elliott Oakley March 24, 1934 - January 6, 2021 Marion Frances Elliott OAKLEY, 86, passed from this life into life Eternal from COVID-19 on January 6, 2021. Marion was a Fairfield, CA resident for 50 years before relocating in 2018 to Chico to be near her children. Marion was born March 24, 1934, in San Francisco, CA, the only child of Edgar John Paul Elliott and Elizabeth Agnes Maloney Elliott. She had two half-siblings, Elizabeth “Bette” Ann Hickey Wharton and John “Jack” William Hickey, who, along with her mother and father, preceded her in death. Marion graduated High School from Immaculate Conception Academy in San Francisco, CA in 1952, attended IBM school, and worked as a key punch operator for Schilling spice where she met her husband. She and Lloyd George Oakley married on June 12, 1954. Together they raised four children, Sharon Lee Mayne, Sue Ann (Steven) Womack, Teresa Lynn (Peter) Loh, and George Grammer (Maureen) Oakley. After her husband, George, died in 1988, Marion began working at La Mariposa Nursing and Rehab in Fairfield, CA, in Central Supply and as an Assistant Activities Director, from which she retired in 1999. In addition to her children, Marion is survived by 6 grandchildren, Richard (Carisa) Holden, III, James (Ellie) Holden, Ashley Loh (Jason) Johnson, David (Holly) Loh, Heather Oakley (Tom) Pedrozo, and Theresa Oakley, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear sister-in-law, Margaret Oakley Boen. Marion will be remembered as a Girl Scout leader, a school volunteer, a voting precinct Inspector, an Adoration volunteer at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, and a dear friend to many. She loved her family, roses, Big Band music, dancing, and talking on the phone (which gave her the family nickname of “Ma Bell”). Graveside services will be held on January 21, 2021, 10 am, at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, 1801 Union Ave., Fairfield, CA . Flowers are welcome as are contributions to Marion’s alma mater, ICA Cristo Rey Academy, attn: Mission Advancement, 3625 – 24th St., San Francisco, CA 94110.
