JEPSSY ASUNCION FREIRE DE BURGOS March 25, 1968 — April 18, 2020 A heroine among the families at Cleo Gordon Elementary, for almost two decades and the best mom ever, Jepssy Freire passed away on the night of April 18, 2020 after losing a long battle with cancer. Born on March 25, 1968, the second of five children to Hugo Triana Burgos and Anicia Electra Jurado, she always fought hard to achieve every goal in life. Growing up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, she played volleyball on the team of La Immaculada and would later go onto study pharmaceutical chemistry at the local University around the 1980’s. She would later get married in 1989 to Hector Freire, and would come to live in Fairfield, California. She attended and graduated from Fairfield Suisun Adult School in 1990 and became a United States Citizen in 2000. She would later work at Cleo Gordon Elementary School for a total of 16 years helping thousands of families, beginning as a recess yard duty in 2003 and would end up becoming a Bilingual Para-Educator, translating English to Spanish for all the families that needed it until April 2020. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, listening to music, travelling and going to concerts with her son. She dreamed of one day going to France and Italy, but also to travel all of the U.S via Amtrak. Her memory lives on not only in her family but in the hearts of every student and their families that she has helped in her time working at Cleo Gordon. She is survived by her parents, Hugo Triana Burgos and Anicia Electra Jurado; husband, Hector Friere; and her only son, Geff Freire Burgos.
