Edward Bartlo Barraco, Jr. 1945 – 2022 Edward Bartlo Barraco, Jr., 77 of Elk Grove died Saturday March 12, 2022 at home surrounded by family after a long illness. He was born January 18, 1945 in Martinez, California to Wynona Hill Barraco and Edward Barraco, Sr. His father was a well-known boxer who went by the name Eddie Burry. After graduation from High School in Martinez, Ed served in the US Army for two years (1965-67) and was a veteran of Vietnam. Returning from the service, he began his 35 year career at Harvey’s Casino where he worked his way up from slot machine worker to General Manager and Senior Vice President when he retired at age 55. Ed loved playing golf, was an accomplished drummer, and he enjoyed watching old Western movies and TV shows. He was a generous man with a great sense of humor. He was sometimes called the “Silver Fox” for his great head of hair and was very devoted to his beloved chihuahuas Bella, Mia and Selena. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Helen Marie Barraco of Elk Grove; his son Edward Angelo Barraco; step-children Dana and Ryan Monaghan; and grandchildren Christian, Angelo, and Hannah. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and Lee & George Whiteman, his sister and brother-in-law. The family would like to invite friends to attend Services with Military Honors at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California on Tuesday April 5, 2022 at 9:15AM.
