Clyde A. Winschell Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Clyde was born on November 18, 1957 to Clyde and Sumi Winschell in Fukuoka Japan. He was raised in Fairfield California where he attended K. I. Jones Elementary School, Green Valley Middle School, and Armijo High School. Clyde joined the U.S. Air Force in 1975 and served in the California Air National Guard. In 1978 he started work as a Shop 11 Shipfitter apprentice at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard where he worked as a journeyman until the shipyard closed. He finished his career at 29 Palms Marine base as a Stationary Engineer. Clyde was an avid golfer. On most days you’d find him teeing off at Paradise Valley or Rancho Solano Golf Courses. He especially loved to play golf with his son Steven and his Grandson Mason. He cherished the years coaching his kids in the 29 Palms Little League Baseball and coaching his grandkids from the stands. He tried to never miss a game. He loved boating, fishing, and riding motorcycles with his friends he’d known for over 50 years. Clyde taught his boys at a young age dirt bike riding. His son Clyde excelled at it. He would be amazed at how he flew through the air jumping from one hill to the next. Clyde took great pride in watching his son. He was full of joy when his brother William married Teresa just prior to his passing. Although very sick he still made it to their wedding. He got the sister he always wanted. He wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Most of all Clyde loved his family. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He adored them all and they all lovingly called him Papa. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Clyde is survived by his sons Clyde (Kaydee), Steven (Sara). Step son Branden (Kelli), Step Daughter Amber (Carl), Grandchildren Adrianna, Hallee, Mason, Chariti, Rylee, Mckayla , Liam, Cody, Willow, Kyla, Keis, Carlyle, Mitchell, Mayce, Brother William (Teresa), and Aunt Zola Services will be at held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon CA. on July 18th at 11.15 am. Please arrive by 10:45am. A reception will follow afterwards at the Moose Lodge in Vacaville.
