Bessie Zanolini Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bessie Ratto Zanolini 1928-2022 Bessie passed away on July 11, 2022. She was born in Oakland, California on November 18, 1928, to Bartolomeo Ratto and Adeline Ratto Parenzan. She lived in Oakland for 65 years. She met Francis Zanolini when they both were working at Carnation Co. and they were married in 1951. She had 3 children, Susan, Michael, and Mark. After their children were young adults, they enjoyed traveling, had multiple trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and Nevada. She and her husband lived in Oakland until his passing in 1991. She moved to Fairfield in 1993, to live near her son Michael and his family. Bessie loved Fairfield and enjoyed her many friends she met as a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She enjoyed all the activities up until the last 4 to 5 years when she was suffering from diabetes and dialysis from kidney failure. She was a good wife and devoted, loving mother. She loved cooking wonderful Italian food and baking fancy cakes for her friends and family. Bessie was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband and a brother, Antonio. Bessie is survived by her sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Giaramita, Joanne De Mattei, and brother, George (Sue) Parenzan, her children, Susan, Michael, and Mark, and her 5 grandchildren, Lisa, Tony, Angie, Marina, and Marcus, and great grandson, Hudson. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Francis at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, Ca.
