Benson Riri Muthee

October 30, 1988 - April 6, 2022

Benson Riri Muthee was born on October 30th, 1988 in Karatina, Kenya. He was a son to Grace Wanjiku Njoroge (California), and the late Michael Muthee Riri. He was a brother to Naomi Wangui Muthee (California), and Lydia Wamuyu Muthee (Dubai), uncle to Claire Wanjiku Ngugi, Deogratias Kimani Ngugi, and Mayson Muthee Muthoga (California). Riri attended Kiwanja Primary School-Nairobi, Kegonge Boys High school- Embu, and Kenyatta university-Nairobi. He moved to the US in the year 2010 and continued his college education at San Francisco State University and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He worked as a HR Specialist for the United States with the department of interior, bureau of reclamation in Denver, Colorado from 2017 until the time of his departure. Benson also serviced in the US Air Force reserves and national guard between the years of 2012 and 2021. In the reserves, he was a senior airman assigned to special handling at the 45th Aerial Port Squadron. He was discharged honorably in December 5th 2021. Benson enjoyed riding his road bike, traveling, hiking, trying new things, and spending time with his family and his dog, Bambi. Benson married his wife, Maureen Mumbi Wamugunda in December of 2018. They were blessed with a son, Michael Muthee Riri in August of 2021. He lived in Roseville, California with his family. Benson departed on April 6th, in Reno due to a sudden illness.
