Armie E. Elma Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Armie E. Elma, a Fairfield, California resident, passed away on Independence Day, July 4, 2022 at Northbay Medical Center after suffering from congestive heart failure at the age of 89. His children were by his side. Armie was born to Paulino Elma and Consolacion Elento in Lucban, Quezon in the Philippines. During World War II, the family evacuated to Naga City where Armie met his future wife, Lydia. After the War, the family moved yet again to Davao City, while Armiewent to Manila to pursue his law degree at San Beda College. Armie’s professional career started with stints as a private attorney until he became a longstanding Judge for the Municipal and Regional Trial Courts for the cities of General Santos and Koronadal in the Philippines. His last position was a Judgeship for the branch at the Pasig Regional Trial Court, a position that he held until the family relocated to the States. Armie was known to be extraordinarily kind, generous, and loving. His siblings, nephews and nieces can attest how he helped them find odd jobs, gave them advice and the like. He was very generous of his time with family, shouldering extra family responsibilities and always having a lechon or that sack of durian ready for family gatherings and excursions. Not only was he very loving to his wife and children, Armie also has a kind heart for the needy and the less fortunate. Armie was an avid walker during his early retirement years. His strolls through the neighborhood always brought him interesting finds from the local thrift stores which he would then box and ship to the old country. Travel brought him plenty of excitement be it to the Philippines, Mexico or any of the countries in the Mediterranean. Armie will be lovingly remembered by his children: Michael (Aleen), Meriam (Philip), Maurice (Jerome), Maruja (Paul David) and Melchor (Maria Luz); his 10 grandchildren; siblings Amor (Manny), Bien (Billy), Manuel (Ging) and Lady (Nonong) as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Lydia; his son, Matthew; his brothers: Caesar and Excel and his parents: Paulino and Consolacion.
