April 17, 1931 - August 21, 2021
Jewel went home to the Lord on Aug. 21, 2021. She was reunited with her beloved husband, M.Z. “Manny” Perez, whom she missed terribly. Jewel was born in Kentucky, where she learned to work hard and love The Lord. She had many tough times in her life, but always kept her Catholic faith and upbeat attitude. She loved unconditionally and never stopped helping others. She was most proud of her large family, her Church, and loved her friends deeply. Jewel retired from the Vacaville Unified School District in 1988. She joined Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church that she and Manny helped build through regular donations. They bought one of the stained glass windows to help. She was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary since 1990, and a member of Y.L.I. and Saint Alphonsus Institute Member 125 since 1992. Jewel is survived by her sons, Joseph T. Watson and wife Dina, of California; John Watson and wife Victoria, of Oregon; daughters, Catherine Moy and husband Ken of Fairfield; and Annette Pressas of Suisun Valley; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, including her beloved niece and friend, Toni Ann Perez; and so many good friends, including Elsie Kazinec. She was predeceased by husband, M.Z. “Manny” Perez; son, James A. Clark; 8 siblings; and her parents, James Bernard Clark and Mary Stella Clark. A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna “Jewel” Perez, 90, will be at 11 am on Sept 7, 2021, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Fairfield, Calif., her home parish. A Rosary will be said prior to the Mass at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Masks are required indoors at all services. Jewel asked that people forego flowers. Instead, if they wish to donate in her memory, please direct funds to: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2700 Dover Ave., Fairfield, Calif. 94533 Jewel will be interred at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield next to her husband.
