John Anthony “Tony” Serrano, Jr. was born November 23, 1982, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born to his parents, John Anthony Serrano and Sandra Lee Serrano. The family moved to San Francisco where he attended kindergarten, then moved to Suisun City where he attended 1st through 12th grade. He graduated Armijo High School in June 2000.

Tony was the super gamer; video games and online gaming. As a child, he enjoyed sports, especially basketball. He loved to draw, watch and attend baseball games, he loved all kinds of music, and being with his friends.

Tony entered into the US Navy on February 24, 2004. In the Navy, he was stationed in Japan aboard the USS Kitty Hawk as an aircraft carrier supplier for three years. Then, he extended his service aboard the USS Boxer-the amphibious landing assault ship, and stationed in San Diego. He was recently separated from the Navy after 5 years. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS.

John Anthony Serrano, Jr. is survived by his loving parents, of Suisun City; cousins, Joseph Reyes and Veronica Reyes and their children, Jesse, Joseph Jr., and Jessica Reyes all of Manteca; cousins, Bernard (Luciann) Wood of Natchez, MS, Ed Johansson, Jr. of Greenville, MS, Larry Karl Johansson of Whitehall, AR, and Jonnie Johansson of Vidalia, LA.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Maria Reyes; uncle, Donovan Hoover; grandmother, Jennie Allene Johansson; grandmother, Fern Serrano; grandfather, Karl Johansson; uncle, Karl Johansson, Jr.; and his grandfather, Ray Serrano.

Funeral services for “Tony” John Anthony Serrano, Jr. will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1050 N. Texas St., Fairfield. Inurnment will be private.
